Win an iPod and new couch with our couch abandonment contest!

Friday, April 9th, 2010

A sad and disturbing crisis that ravages cities and towns across America is about to strike. Couch Abandonment. Each Spring, cities from Boston to San Francisco to towns from State College to College Station are struck with the sad phenomenon of hundreds of abandoned couches lining sidewalks and thrown forgotten around dumpsters.

We at AmericanListed.com are dedicated to stopping this tragedy and giving these couches, many of which have been loyal and part of so many good and loving memories, the chance for a new home and life. Therefore, we are launching a contest for college students or anyone who is moving this spring or early summer to share their story of why their couch deserves to be “saved”. We are asking applicants to submit their videos of less than two minutes or a written testimonial of 250 words or less with a photo to AmericanListed.com.

The first few weeks of the contest, AmericanListed.com will award a weekly winner with an iPod and post videos and stories of applicants. The grand prize winner will win a new couch and companion to take to their new living accommodations courtesy of AmericanListed.com. Please just remember to keep entries within the limits and make sure they are something applicants would want their mothers to see as we are dedicated to providing a family-friendly buying and selling environment. And please, please, stop Couch Abandonment.

Americanlisted Inc. is questioning the NYDailynews business moral

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

More than 2 years has passed by and no money refunded.

The widely known newspaper company, www.NYDailynews.com, has not transferred back amount of 960USD to Americanlisted.com., as per a bilateral agreement set in mid July 2007.

The beginning of the story dates back in June 2007 when Americanlisted made its first contact with NYDailyNews in order to investigate prices for a one month online advertising campaign at NYDailynews. We were purely interested in having a banner published on the newspaper company’s web site as part of our marketing communication activities.

Once the request was sent by Americanlisted, a steady communication flow was established between the parties; all by means to discuss and agreed on a solid advertising planning for Americanlisted on July 2007. NYDailynews sent us a revised proposal which was finally approved by the president of Americanlisted. The wire transfer information came together with the revised proposal, so that we could go ahead and execute the transfer of 960USD to the Bank of America, in NYC.

The newspaper company followed that we would only get our advertising planning up and running after their finance department confirmed the transfer. So far so good until a kind of odd signal came into place.

The Americanlisted president had, for a quite a few times, asked NYdailynews for a go live date which they never informed. Americanlisted was simply requesting for an exact date when the banner would be online for public viewing; but that seemed to be a difficult question for NYdailynews to answer. It became somewhat a mystery.

This event marked the starting point of a sequence of lack of information and zero replies whenever Americanlisted sent out an e-mail to the newspaper company. NYDailynews apologized for such inconvenience and added a short status on the campaign planning. They briefly communicated the banner would be visible shortly.

NYDailynews continued to be none responsive the following 2 weeks after Americanlisted had executed the bank transfer to them.

Suddenly and to our big surprise, on July 16th 2007, we received an e-mail from one of their senior key account managers who explained that after careful consideration NYDailynews had decided to cancel any advertising campaign with Americanlisted. They claimed Americanlisted directly competes with several products that NYDailynews provides for its users. NYdailynews finished by stressing that they were in the process of returning the bank transfer totaling 960USD.

Ask us if Americanlisted has received the money back?

No. Absolutely not. Such an event shocks mainly because we could never imagine that a well-known company would be capable of doing so. We thought NYDailynews would act professionally. Though we made many attempts on trying to get a hold of them, Americanlisted has not yet received any explanation or a single response; quite the contrary, NYDailynews has remained silent.

Subsequently, Americanlisted seriously considers instituting legal proceedings against NYDailynews. A couple of years have undoubtedly passed by and we still dislike the manner we were treated. In other words, the misconduct of NYDailynews is provoking us to take action. The amount of money, which this is in regard, has no relevance. Finally, we strongly believe that NYDailynews should be held accountable for this. We can no longer accept their disregard towards our claim.
